Oats were initially cultivated in Asia and then were brought to Europe.
Oats are cereal plants that thrive in dry and cool climates. They are rich in vegetable fiber, protein, vitamin B5, B1 and B9, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron and copper.

Oat flakes are the most popular product, obtained from oat grains by extrusion of whole grain oats. The flakes are rich in fiber and protein, B-group vitamins, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron and copper.

Cooking tips

Most oat flakes are consumed in the form of muesli or soaked in milk or fruit juice.
They are suitable for thickening soups and preparation of the muesli bars.
